The nice thing about etrailer is their customer service. We ordered a larger grab bar last week, UPS lost track of it somewhere during shipping. I contacted Joshua B, our customer service agent. Josh got right on it and stayed after UPS and expedited the delivery. I like using etrailer for my rv parts and accessories because they have what I need, in stock, and on those rare occasions when a glitch happens they fix it fast. For instance I emailed Josh at 9PM. Josh works during the day and still checks his office emails at night. I got a reply less than 30 minutes later and the delivery issue promptly resolved. Thank you etrailer and thank you Joshua B. Nice job!

Darn UPS! I'm glad that Josh was there to lend a hand and help you out, Scott. I'll make sure that he sees all your kudos. What kind of camper are you going to install it on?

She had knee surgery, this rail has been a life saver for her to get in and out of her camper

by:

the product was exactly what i ordered. It was in perfect condition and was easy to install. As my wife and i am older it makes our entry so much easier. The price was what i willing pay.

by:

This makes such a big difference exiting the camper. Install was literally remove 4 screws, pull off old handle, pop the screws in the new one using same holes. Should have done this inexpensive change sooner.

by:

Works well. Be sure you have solid wood to screw to, because you'll be pulling pretty hard on it.

by:

Handrail is loose fitting in the mounting brackets.

by:

it is great

by:

Perfect solution - needed to hang on to carrying our pet outside. Took about 10 minutes to install.

by:

I’m prepping for paint and removed the bar from the trailer, boy do I miss it when climbing in the RV! Been sanding sheet metal for days! This is a great product!!!

by:

So much better than the old one. It jiggles slightly, but I feel confident now going down the stairs.

by:

Installed it today, great addition to safety on a 5th wheel. Great purchase

by:

Great replacement for original handrail. Have access from ground, making safer entering or exiting Rv.

by:

Super quick delivery, we are so pleased. We are ordering a second hand railing. This hand railing does everything as promised. Really easy to install.

by:

Easy 5 minute swap, wife loves it! Much easier for her entering and exiting trailer.

by:

The LEND A HAND fit the 5th wheel RV perfectly, however the handle has movement in the bracket when you use it and gives you a feeling of being unstable.

by:

Good but could use rubber in 2 more spots on the handle. Holes did not match up perfectly with the holes from the original handle as stated but was able to make it work fairly easily.

by:

I installed one of these at both trailer doors. They have been terrific. After a knee and hip joint replacement surgeries and arthritis in the others, my wife is mobility challenged. Not only do these handrails help her get into the trailer, it gives her more confidence about getting in. You should realize there is a chance there may not be blocking at your mounting locations but this is somewhat mitigated by the fact there are 3 screws per mounting block. Special fasteners may be advisable.

Still working well. I am very pleased.

by:

The upgrade over the current one arrived the next day.

by:

Will install in a few weeks when we dewinterize our trailer. More inline for a couple of retirees to climb into the camper.

by:

I have not had the opportunity to install the handrail, yet. It looks like a quality unit .that will make life easier.

by:

Fits perfectly in place of the stock entry handle that came with our RV. So far appears it will work well. 4 stars because the handle is loose in the cradles and moves when u grab the handle to enter. Stock one was tighter.

@Polly That is not good! Luckily, there are replacement caps available on our site, part # SC35GR.

by:

Easy to install. Will be trying them on our trip next week.

by:

Everything lined up and took all of 15 minutes to remove old and install new.

by:

Easy to install, allows my elderly family members easier access to my camper. I'm very happy.

by:

The grab rail match the holes from my original handle, so installation was a breeze. Like having the lower handle for my wife's smaller size, makes it great for her.

  • Could Strombreg Extend a Handle # AM533 Fit on 2022 Jayco JayFeather
Hey Norbert, the Stromberg handle part # AM-533 is designed to fit standard mounting handle applications but we don't have a way to know if your Jayco has that currently. So what you can do is measure the distance between the mounting brackets you have now and if that distance is 19-1/4 inches this would fit and work great. If you have a different distance that you measure let me know and I'll see if there's an alternate that would work.

  • Recommended Replacement Folding Grab Handle for a 2023 Jayco Jay Flight Travel Trailer
Well you're right, that's not normal. What likely happened is that you may have just got a defective unit and it'll just need to be replaced. I recommend checking out the Lend-a-Hand Extra Large Folding Grab Handle for RVs # AM-533. This replacement handle is virtually the same as the Camco Fold-Away RV Grab Handle # CAM42175, only this is going to be made in the USA with better quality materials, is a bit larger at 37" tall x 25-1/2" wide, and is also made from powder coated Aluminum...

  • Troubleshooting Wobbly Lend A Hand Grab Handle
Hey Brenda, A wobbly hand rail is never fun! I would recommend taking a Phillips head screw driver and re tightening the 4 screws you used to install until they are hand tight again. Over time the screws will come somewhat loose so it is always good to re tighten them over time. I wouldn't use a drill to tighten to avoid stripping the screws. Re tightening them will help with the sturdiness. The plastic caps falling off would possibly be fixed with tightening the screws back down as...

Hey Tim, thanks for the photo! The Lend-a-Hand Extra Large Folding Grab Handle # AM-533 probably doesn't have the exact same bolt hole placements as your current Camco Short Folding Handle, so you may have to repair some holes to ensure you don't have any leaks.
